FAQ

Questions Buyers Ask

What is the difference between indexable and solid carbide drills?

Indexable drills use replaceable inserts — the drill body lasts, only inserts are replaced, giving the lowest cost per hole for larger diameters (typically 16-80mm). Solid carbide drills are one-piece — excellent precision and rigidity, best for smaller diameters (typically 3-20mm) and tight tolerances.

Can I use coolant-through drills on a standard machine?

Coolant-through drills need a machine with through-spindle coolant (TSC) or a coolant adapter. If your machine has through-tool coolant capability, they dramatically improve chip evacuation and tool life in deep holes.
