FAQ
Questions Buyers Ask
What is the difference between face milling and shoulder milling inserts?
Face milling inserts cut flat surfaces with the face of the cutter (90° approach or less); shoulder milling inserts (square shoulder) cut both the face and the wall in one pass, producing a 90° shoulder. Choose by the geometry of the feature you need to machine.
Which milling insert grade for aluminum?
For aluminum and non-ferrous alloys, use uncoated or PVD-coated carbide with sharp, polished edges and positive rake — this prevents built-up edge and gives a better surface finish. High-speed machining of aluminum may also benefit from PCD inserts.
Can you make custom milling inserts?
Yes. We support OEM/ODM custom inserts including non-standard shapes, custom grades and private-label packaging per your drawings and application requirements.
